Biography Yongji Zhou (Y. Zhou) received his BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from the Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2003, and his MSc by research degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK, in 2005. He is now working at Dyson Technology Limited as a embedded software engineer. He worked as an R&D Engineer in Midea Group, China, in 2005, performing electronic designs for air conditioners. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, the University of Leeds. He is an IET student member. His research interest includes FPGA embedded system applications, real-time hardware-in-loop simulation. Research interests ● FPGA implementation of targeted algorithm using hardware/software codesign ● Evolutionary computation techniques, e.g. genetic algorithms, for FPGA design ● Real-time hardware-in-the-loop systems ● Data processing in control, simulation and communication systems Research activities ● System-On-Chip Acceleration of Wheel-rail Contact Laws by using FPGA, current PhD’s project, since 2006, supported by ORSAS ● FPGA Based Real Time Simulation for Electrical Machines, MSc’s project, 2003-2005 ● Greenhouse Wireless Programmable Fuzzy-Control System, ‘CHALLENGE CUP’ contest’s project, 2001-2003 ● Design of PC-based Radar Information Mining & Display Card, BEng final year project, 2002-2003 Publications Journal papers: ● Y.
